Wonosari is a district and also the capital of Gunung Kidul Regency, Special Province of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. Wonosari sub-district is adjacent to the north with Nglipar sub-district, to the east with Karangmojo sub-district and Semanu subdistrict, to the south with Tanjungsari sub-district, and to the west with Paliyan sub-district and Playen sub-district.
